Man remains negligent towards Allāh until something is needed from Him. Many think they have the luxury of time to wait before reforming themselves or turning to Allāh. Time, however, is not on our side. Everything deteriorates with time within the physical universe. The same is also true for the spiritual universe, where if you are not working towards self-reformation, you will be in spiritual decline.
