The Madinan Society: A Tafsir of Surat al-Hujurat Part 4

The Madīnan Society: A Tafsīr of Sūrat al-Ḥujurāt Part 4/12
Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on Friday 6th May 2016 at Al Kawthar Academy, Leicester (UK)

After the Prophet ﷺ and his companions emigrated to Medina, Allah revealed laws with which Muslims must abide by so that they may live together peacefully. This Sūrat serves as a prime example of such intricate laws that detail not just how people should behave with one another, but how they should speak and think about each other.

This fourth lesson places emphasis that despite our own knowledge and abilities, Allah and His Messenger ﷺ know best. This realisation was engraved within the Sahabah who fully submitted themselves to the commands of Allah. The sooner we come to realise that Islam is a mercy for us and that following our desires will lead to our own destruction, the sooner we can understand that the religion is there for ease and goodness in our lives.

This lesson concludes by discussing the delight of having true faith and the steps we can take in order to achieve it.
