Islamic Essentials Course (Weekday)

Introduction

A non-intensive course designed to help students improve their knowledge of Islamic essentials and enable them to apply what they learn to daily life.

This course is exclusively for sisters, taught by qualified ʿālimāt.
This course is taught on-site only, and there is no online option.

Days and Timings: Mondays & Thursdays 10:00am – 12:15pm

Subjects

Subject	Curriculum
Qurʾān & Tajwīd	Students will be able to: Identify the makhraj of each letter and pronounce them correctly. Recognise and implement the basic rules (e.g. nūn sākin and mīm sākin rules, qalqalah, full mouth letters). Recite with fluency.
Fiqh	Students will learn: The basic rulings of ṣalāh, zakāh, ḥajj and fasting. The rules of menstruation, nifās, miscarriage and other rulings related to females.
Aḥādīth/Adʿiyah	Students will: Study 40 aḥādīth. Learn commonly read supplications.
Sīrah	Students will explore the following aspects of the Prophet’s ﷺ life: Birth and upbringing Major battles Final days and passing Brief summary of the four khulafāʾ Important dates
Tafsīr	Students will: Study the tafsīr of Juzʾ ʿAmma, Sūrat al-Fātiḥah and other oft recited suwar. Explore the concept of iʿjāz al-Qurʾān

Assessment: 3 assessments throughout the year. No final exam.

Requirements

Minimum entry age for the course is 16.

This class is contingent on sufficient numbers and will only go ahead if there are enough students.

Fees

The course fee per annum is £350 which can be paid outright at the beginning of the year or as ten monthly instalments of £35.
