    ‘Ālim & ‘Ālimah Course Open Day 2016

    al-Kawthar Academy will be having an open day to present its 2016 ʿĀlim & ʿĀlimah Course for both Brothers & Sisters.

    The Open Day is an excellent opportunity for prospective students (Brothers & Sisters) to view course material, view the facilities available at the academy, meet and ask questions to al-Kawthar Academy staff and current students and learn how the staff support the progress of their students to become proficient in the Islamic sciences.

    This part time course, based on a classical curriculum, is designed to help beginners progress from an elementary stage to a very advanced level in Arabic and Islamic Studies. Taught in English with a progressive focus on Arabic, it comprises an in depth study of many disciplines in Arabic Language and Literature, Theology, Qur‘ān, Ḥadīth, Fiqh, Principles of Fiqh, Principles of Ḥadīth, Comparative Fiqh and Tafsīr.

    Prospective students can enrol into the higher years of the ʿĀlim and ʿĀlimah course, subject to eligibility criteria.

    Taught by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq & other qualified ʿUlamā´ and ʿĀlimāt.

    A Morning part time ʿĀlimah course for sisters.
    Al Kawthar Academy presents a part time morning ʿĀlimah course in English and Arabic for sisters, taught by qualified ʿĀlimāt. This part time course, based on a classical curriculum, is designed to help beginners progress from an elementary stage to a very advanced level in Arabic and Islamic Studies.
    Taught in English with a progressive focus on Arabic, it comprises an in depth study of many disciplines of Arabic and Islamic studies, including Arabic language and literature, theology, Qur´ān, Ḥadīth and Fiqh.

    Course Outline and syllabus
    Years 1–2: Arabic language & literature, Fiqh, Ḥadīth
    Years 3-5: Qur´ān, Ḥadīth, Principles of Fiqh, Principles of Ḥadīth, Comparative Fiqh, Tafsīr
    Years 6 -7: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Jāmi’ at-Tirmidhī, Sunan Abū Dāwūd, Sunan ibn Mājah & Sunan an-Nasâ’ī

    Under the tutelage of Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq the course will be taught by qualified ʿĀlimāt.

    Requirements
    Minimum entry age for the course is 16. No detailed knowledge of the Arabic language is necessary. However, students should at least be able to recognise and read the Arabic script of the Qurān, even if it be slowly and without comprehension.

    Fees
    The course fee per annum is £1,100 which can be paid outright at the beginning of the year or as a deposit of £200 on enrolment and then in 9 monthly instalments of £100. Fees need to be paid via standing order.
