Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on Friday 27th January 2017 at Al Kawthar Academy, Leicester (UK)

Full talk: The Purpose of Life

What was the last verse of the Qur’an to be revealed? Many people believe it to be a verse in Surah al-Maida (Surah 5:Verse 3) however this was not the case. The last verse to be revealed is in Surah al-Baqarah (Surah 2:Verse 281) in which Allah reminds mankind that they will be returned to Him.

This verse serves as a powerful reminder because of the fact that the entire Qur’an, with its stories of the Prophets of the past, its laws and its teachings of worship ultimately result in a person’s return to Allah. This final message of the Qur’an also allows a person to focus on their purpose in life and understand that they will be held to account for all that they do in this world.

Find out in this excerpt the meaning of the final verse of the Qur’an and when it was revealed.
