Hajj: A Spiritual Journey
Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on 19th September 2014 at Al Kawthar Academy, Leicester
A beautiful talk detailing the various spiritual aspects of Hajj and how one can benefit greatly from this blessed journey. The talk begins by explaining the inner dimensions of Hajj and how these spiritual aspects are found in both salah and fasting. The rituals of Hajj and their symbolism in Islam are expanded on so that they are not treated as mere actions.
The talk then goes on to explain how the family of Ibrahim a.s are honoured through the rituals of Hajj. The preparations and provisions taken for Hajj are just as important along with the reminder that this world is only temporary. The sanctified state of Ihram transcends the pieces of cloth worn and though this Allah reminds us that we are all created equal.
Why the family of Ibrahim a.s are honoured specifically during Hajj and Umrah is detailed towards the end of the talk. Their sacrifices and obedience are an example for all of mankind.
