An Excerpt from the lecture, ‘Ramaḍān: A Spiritual Retreat‘ – Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on Sunday 14th May 2017 at Al Kawthar Academy, Leicester (UK)

Full talk: Ramadan: A Spiritual Retreat

I’tikaf is a sacred state in which people enter during the last 10 days of Ramadan. Being restricted to the Masjid, people are often distracted by technology and can easily fall into sin while in seclusion.

I’tikaf goes beyond physical detachment from the rest of the world. It is a mental, spiritual and emotional state that a person should be in, maintaining a connection with Allah throughout.

Find out in this short excerpt just how easy it is for a person to fall into sin while in the state of I’tikaf and what they should do to prepare for these final 10 days of Ramadan.
